Ramallah - Ofoq News - The Government Communication Center issued a report highlighting the most important development and reform interventions implemented by the Palestinian government during the past week (10/04/2026 - 10/09/2026), which are as follows.
Prime Minister Dr. stressed Muhammad Mustafa, during his meeting with representatives of pharmaceutical companies and suppliers in Ramallah, last Sunday, to direct available resources to ensure the provision of essential and life-saving medicines, especially for patients with chronic diseases and newborns, praising the supply of medicines worth 69 million shekels during the past two months, and stressing the importance of intensifying international efforts to support the health sector and recover Palestinian funds detained by the occupation. During the weekly cabinet session, he also renewed his directives to intensify government interventions according to the needs and priorities of citizens, warning of the escalation of colonialist attacks with the start of the olive season, and calling for intensifying the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, especially shelter, food, water and medicine supplies, as winter approaches.
The Energy and Natural Resources Authority provided direct grants worth 1.55 million shekels to rehabilitate and develop electricity networks in Qalqilya Governorate, especially in communities adjacent to settlement, and to implement solar energy and storage projects in health facilities, including the Darwish Nazal Governmental Hospital with a capacity of 210 kilowatts and 800 kilowatt-hours of storage, and the Jinsafut and Hajjah clinics with a capacity of 50 kilowatts and 100 kilowatt-hours of storage each. The Energy Authority and the Palestinian Electricity Transmission Company also began procedures for charging the lines feeding the city of Hebron from the Beit Ula transfer station, with a length of about 17 kilometers, and continued the expansion of the Sarra station in Nablus.
The Water Authority restarted the main Mekorot line feeding Khan Yunis, contributing to improving the supply to more than 750,000 citizens and displaced persons, and continued preparing a well and implementing water networks and transmission lines to enhance water sources in the Al-Hakar area and the displacement camps south of Deir Al-Balah. In the West Bank, the Authority continued to address the water loss in Tammun, which amounts to about 45%, and discussed sustainable solutions for sanitation in southern Tubas and Tammun, with European funding worth 6 million euros, in addition to working to develop water sources and reduce losses in Marada and Al-Lubban Al-Sharqiya, and following up on water and sanitation needs in the villages and towns of the western countryside of Bethlehem. Also, the implementation of a solar energy project in water facilities continues, including the installation of a 98 kilowatt system in the Dura water tank, with a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters, in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme, to reduce operating costs and enhance the continuity of services. At the level of international cooperation, the Water Authority discussed with the Egyptian side ways to support the Palestinian water sector, especially in the Gaza Strip, provide operation and maintenance requirements, enhance readiness, diversify water sources, and mobilize Arab and international support for priority interventions.
The Ministry of Education and Higher Education carried out maintenance work in 7 schools in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Education Directorate, and signed two rehabilitation contracts for two schools in South Hebron worth $270,000, while announcing the issuance of two tenders worth $1,550,000 to expand and rehabilitate Deir Dibwan Industrial School and supervise the construction of the Doha Secondary School for Boys. The Walid Abu Muwais Boys’ Basic School project in Jenin was selected among the 10 best projects globally in the UNESCO/Hamdan Award. The Ministry also participated in a regional conference on integrating artificial intelligence into higher education, and honored the winning students in student competitions for the year 2025/2026, and explained that the limited seats are behind the non-acceptance of some applicants to medical specializations in Gaza, out of about 6,000 applicants.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing continued its preparations to face the winter season, by preparing crews and machinery to reduce the effects of weather conditions and emergencies, in parallel with the completion of asphalt paving works in the project to rehabilitate the road linking Solomon’s Pools and Artas in Bethlehem, the rehabilitation of Amman Street in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, and the implementation of concrete pouring works on the shoulders on the Bala-Allar Road in Tulkarm. The Ministry also opened a tender for the first phase (Al-Azm) to build the secondary vocational school in Bethlehem, and issued a tender for the expansion and rehabilitation of the Deir Dibwan Industrial School in Ramallah.
Salimiya discusses the needs of the agricultural sector in Aqraba and distributes emergency agricultural aid to the affected farmers within the urgent response program, where 40 water tanks, 40 straws, and 15 straw bales (large size, weighing 450 kg per bale) were distributed to the affected farmers in the villages south of Nablus, and the Ministry of Agriculture opened the Agriculture and Veterinary Department south of Nablus in the town of Beita, which is the 45th department in the Palestinian countryside. Veterinary services directorates and departments carried out 22,086 vaccination doses for 578 breeders in five governorates within five days. At the level of international cooperation, the Minister of Agriculture discussed with the Ambassador of Denmark and the representative of the European Union ways to strengthen the partnership and support agricultural priorities, including developing field and fodder crops, livestock, employing youth, and protecting farmers. The Ministry held a meeting with farmers nominated to benefit from the second phase of the agricultural aid program funded by the European Union.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications carried out free campaigns to license agricultural tractors and grant driving licenses to farmers in Tal and Rummana, and road safety patrols continued their work, with 24 complaints received and 23 of them addressed. Regarding licensing, the Ministry followed up on the transactions of public vehicles, professional facilities, and inspection centers, issued a warning to the dynamometer and its professional director in Jenin, and extended until November 30, 2026, the deadline for correcting the conditions of maintenance, body, and paint facilities. It also continued working on the new system and preparing training courses for employees.
The Ministry of Social Development implemented a wide package of social and humanitarian interventions in the West Bank and Gaza, which included providing food and non-food aid, emergency cash aid, empowerment projects and purchasing vouchers for 5,115 families in the West Bank worth 627,000 shekels, implementing 13,527 food interventions, and distributing 6,420 loaves of bread and 2,680 cups of drinking water in the Gaza Strip. It also implemented hundreds of interventions to protect women, children, orphans, people with disabilities, and the elderly, and followed up on health insurance, the nursery file, and other interventions in the West Bank and Gaza.
The Ministry of Labor distributed 29 grants to cooperative societies in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and through the employment program, it continued to collect and transport 7,800 m³ of waste in the Gaza Strip, in addition to the start of the new training year, and 330 trainees joined the Halhul Training Center and 172 trainees benefited from vocational and technical courses. The Ministry also carried out 214 inspection visits that included 4,082 male and female workers, and 32 visits in the field of occupational safety and health that included 443 male and female workers, which resulted in securing 160 facilities against work-related injuries and taking measures to enhance safety and prevention conditions.
The Minister of Local Government discussed activating the cooperation agreement with South Africa, and reviewed with the Arab ambassadors there the occupation and settler attacks and forced displacement operations. The Undersecretary also discussed with the United Nations Development Program enhancing cooperation in solid waste management.
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched the World Tourism Day activities under the slogan “How beautiful is our country” in the Solomon’s Pools in the village of Artas, organizing tourist tours for the Palestinians of the interior, and the Minister inspected the old town and archaeological sites in Hizma, in addition to following up on the project to protect and preserve the Tal al-Sultan archaeological site included on the World Heritage List, the restoration work of the Grand Salahi Mosque in Nablus, and introducing tourist and archaeological sites in Jenin Governorate.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held two briefings for foreign ambassadors and non-resident Arabs accredited to Palestine. She also chaired a ministerial meeting to follow up on movements regarding UNRWA, especially developments related to the Qalandia Institute, and discussed with the representative of the United Nations Development Programme, enhancing support for the Palestinian people. Abdo Idris, the head of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, also signed a memorandum of understanding to launch and operate the “Pal Connect” platform to network Palestinian business owners in the diaspora with the private sector and the national economy, build international economic partnerships, and enhance the presence and competitiveness of the Palestinian product in international markets, in light of the current economic challenges.
The Ministry of Interior continued to implement the law, as the police arrested 1,369 wanted persons, executed 2,985 judicial warrants, and dealt with 70 drug seizure missions and 213 criminal incidents and incidents. The General Authority for Civil Affairs carried out interventions that included securing the entry of chemicals for gold factories and a concrete pump to the Old City of Hebron, securing funerals, releasing students and staff of the Tariq Bin Ziyad School and detained citizens, removing settlers from a house in Wadi Al-Rakhim, and enabling farmers to reach their lands in Halhul. It also issued permits to Beit Iksa teachers and family visits behind the wall, facilitated the maintenance of telephone lines in Abu Dis, returned 6 families to their homes in the town of Tal in Nablus after they had been evacuated for about two months, worked to remove settlers and recover stolen olives in several governorates, secured the release of three people injured in settler attacks in Amriha, facilitated the transfer of a patient from Barta’a to Jenin and brought in medical teams, in addition to facilitating the cleaning of Valleys in Qalqilya in preparation for winter, and enabling the Water Authority to maintain the transmission line in Halhul.
The Environmental Quality Authority carried out 97 monitoring and inspection rounds, followed up on 5 environmental complaints, granted environmental approval for an industrial project, and issued 5 permits to import chemicals, in addition to monitoring olive presses and dealing with their waste, especially olive oil. It also discussed supporting agricultural projects and the green economy, integrating environmental standards into lending and grant programs, and launched the work of the National Committee for Hazardous Materials and Waste Management.
The Ministry of National Economy followed up on the quota’s impact on pricesFrozen meat, while enhancing economic and trade relations with Egypt was discussed. The Ministry of Women's Affairs implemented a series of interventions to enhance the rights and resilience of women and girls, which included psychological and social support sessions targeting women in six shelter camps in Gaza City. It also launched, in partnership with the Reform Foundation, the national feminist policy to enhance the steadfastness of Palestinian women in the context of occupation, including protection, empowerment, and advocacy for rights internationally, and issued a paper on the occasion of Palestinian Heritage Day that highlighted the role of women in preserving national heritage, protecting Palestinian identity, and enhancing steadfastness.
The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics recorded an increase of 1.21% in the index of industrial production quantities during August, and issued data on the housing situation that showed that about 201,290 buildings were damaged as a result of the war on the Gaza Strip, equivalent to 82% of the total buildings, and 90% of the water and sanitation infrastructure was damaged, in addition to damage to 680 buildings in the Jenin camp, 434 in Nour Shams, and 407 buildings in the Tulkarm camp. It also issued a monthly electronic newsletter and provided statistical data to about 62 local and international entities.

It organized a meeting to publicize the novel “An Honorable Tragedy” in Tulkarm, a dialogue session on the legislative elections in Bethlehem, screenings of documentaries about Palestinian heritage in the Jalazoun camp, and concluded a training workshop for craftsmen and small business owners in the village of Salfit.
