Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - Hebrew Channel 12 reported that the Israeli army carried out, at dawn on Saturday, an attempt to assassinate Hamas leader Ali Al-Amoudi, in an air strike that targeted a residential apartment west of Gaza City.
The channel quoted sources as saying that Al-Amoudi was inside the targeted apartment at the time of the raid, while no official statement was issued by the Israeli army or Hamas confirming his fate.
Five people were martyred in the bombing, including four women and a young man, while Al-Amoudi was not mentioned among the martyrs
Al-Amoudi is the deputy head of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, and Israeli reports described him as one of the most prominent officials responsible for managing the affairs of the Strip, and that he is one of the candidates to succeed Yahya Sinwar in the leadership of the movement inside Gaza.
