This is how the FIFA President reacted to Saudi Arabia winning the "Gulf 27" Championship

- FIFA President Gianni Infantino congratulated the Saudi national team after their victory in the "Gulf 27" championship. The "Green" team won the title for the fourth time in its history, after defeating their Emirati counterpart with a score of two in the final match held at the Al-Inma Stadium on Tuesday.

Infantino said to Saudi media after the final: "Congratulations to Saudi Arabia, what a final match full of emotions and tension, and the moments were intense, and the fans were amazing, I saw in them the true passion for football in Saudi Arabia." He added: "A remarkable hosting of the Gulf 27 championship, the Saudi team deserved to win, you played a great match, an amazing final with the highest standards, and I congratulate the Saudi team, they deserved this victory, I congratulate everyone."

The FIFA President continued: "Today we will see the country celebrating this achievement, and this is confirmation that they are well prepared for the 2027 Asian Cup and the 2034 World Cup." Gianni Infantino had faced criticism in the past after proposing to sell shares in the men's and women's World Cups to investors, before retracting it.

At that time, the Saudi Football Federation welcomed Infantino's "acknowledgment" of the mistake regarding his proposal, affirming its support for the FIFA President's efforts to "enhance the unity of the football family" and "continue developing the game."
