Trump returns to the old “Air Force One”... What happens to Air Force One donated by Qatar?

Ofoq News Network learned that US President Donald Trump is boarding the old Air Force One plane during his trip, Friday, to the city of Mobile, Alabama, on the second day in a row that he has avoided using the plane donated by Qatar, which recently took over the duties of transporting the president. The newest plane is currently undergoing maintenance or modification, as a source in the US administration told Ofoq News Network, “Some cosmetic updates are being made to its interior cabin.”

Trump also used the old plane on his trip to Texas on Thursday. Although the source described the updates as "cosmetic," Ufoq News reported in July that the White House was seeking to accelerate the pace of security upgrades for the Qatari plane.

Administration officials have discussed privately that Trump should avoid traveling on board to areas with high security risks, according to two sources familiar with the matter. The comprehensive upgrades needed to enhance the security of the new Air Force One aircraft were scheduled to take place during the fall.

Trump has publicly acknowledged that the plane needs additional security improvements, telling reporters over the summer that it will soon reach "maximum equipment."
