Trump's first comment on the Houthis' targeting of King Khalid Airport

- US President Donald Trump expressed, on Friday, his dissatisfaction with the bloody attack that targeted King Khalid International Airport in Saudi Arabia, at a time when the Houthi rebels in Yemen continue their campaign against the Kingdom for the third day in a row. Trump said, in response to a question from a reporter at the White House about his opinion of the attack: “It is not a good thing,” adding: “It is not a good thing,” and he continued: “I am not happy about it.”

On Friday, the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia announced the killing of three Saudis and the injury of a number of people of different nationalities as a result of two attacks targeting King Khalid International Airport on Thursday. The authority indicated - via the "X" platform - that the two attacks also caused some material damage.

On Thursday, the Houthis announced a new wave of attacks targeting two civilian airports - Riyadh Airport and Najran Airport, near the southern border between Saudi Arabia and Yemen - in addition to the King Khalid Air Base of the Saudi Air Force. The group claimed that the attacks were carried out using cruise and ballistic missiles, and that they caused damage and disrupted air traffic.

Regarding Iran, Trump said when asked why the United States did not move against it before the midterm elections, he said: “We might do that.” His statements came one day after he posted on his platform, “Truth Social,” that the United States would not attack Iran before the midterm elections.

On Thursday, Trump said on the same platform: “We will not attack Iran at any time before the midterm elections scheduled to be held in the United States on November 3,” adding that the administration is holding “productive talks” with Tehran, and that his main goal is to ensure that the country does not obtain a nuclear weapon. On Friday, Trump reiterated his assertion that Iran is “suffering from failure,” saying: “Their army is defeated.
