Amid the failure to reach a solution so far between Iran and America that would end the conflict, which has entered its eighth month, US Vice President J.D. Vance confirmed that Washington wants to obtain a final commitment from Tehran regarding the nuclear file.
Vance said in an interview with CBS News on Sunday: “We are seeking a final and firm commitment from the Iranians not to rebuild their nuclear program.”
He also considered that the world and America would witness a decline in fuel prices when the conflict with Iran ended.
In addition, he stressed that the United States “achieved a decisive victory” in Iran by destroying its nuclear program. But he added that the war must continue to ensure that Tehran does not rebuild its nuclear capabilities and to prevent a global energy supply crisis. He said: "I will be the first to tell you that fuel prices are very high... but they would have been three times higher had the US Navy not kept oil and gas flowing through the Strait of Hormuz."
