Jerusalem - Ofoq News - The Jerusalem Governorate reported that settlers performed collective religious rituals and prayers, and chanted public hymns on the steps of the Dome of the Rock Mosque, inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, in conjunction with the so-called “New Moon” in Hebrew, with the protection of the occupation forces.
Public rituals continued in the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, including the sites surrounding the Dome of the Rock.
Video scenes also documented settlers performing collective religious rituals and prayers in the eastern region of the Blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, including lying on the ground and forming dance circles and chanting hymns, coinciding with the so-called beginning of the Hebrew month, under the protection of the occupation forces.
These rituals continue along the path taken by the groups storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, while restricting the access of Muslim worshipers to the eastern region, and preventing them from passing through the sites where the raiding groups are located during the morning and afternoon raids.
These practices come in light of providing protection and facilities to settlers to perform their public religious rituals inside Al-Aqsa Mosque, including wearing and bringing in religious clothing and tools, in exchange for imposing restrictions on Muslims’ access to parts of the mosque.
