Yemeni police announce that "Aden Airport was targeted by two Houthi missiles"

- The police of the Yemeni city of Aden announced that “two missiles fired by the Houthi rebels hit the campus of Aden International Airport,” in the south of the country, on Friday. The police said, in a statement, that initial reports indicate that there were no human casualties.

This attack follows a previous attack on October 7, in which the Houthis targeted the airport with missiles and drones, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Transport, an attack that also did not result in any casualties. The authorities warned that repeated attacks on the airport threaten civil aviation operations and the safety of passengers.

The police statement said: “Aden International Airport is a vital air gateway for Yemenis, including patients and humanitarian cases, who rely on it to travel and receive medical treatment abroad.” The statement called on the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to "provide support to work to ensure the safety of travelers and employees, and to protect civil aviation operations."

In recent weeks, the Houthis have escalated their attacks, both inside Yemen and towards neighboring Saudi Arabia, which supports the internationally recognized Yemeni government in its fight against the rebel group. On Friday, the Australian Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia advised its citizens to avoid traveling to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which has also been targeted by the Houthis over the past few days.
