On Monday, US President Donald Trump responded to Barack Obama after the former president jokingly said that the Republican-era White House looked like a Cheesecake Factory restaurant run by Saddam Hussein.
"For you to say it's a 'Cheesecake Factory' makes it very clear why you've been a lousy president," Trump said in response to a question about Obama's comments over the weekend.
“People like Obama, when they pass in front of the main door, they see the broken building stones... They have never seen the dirt and filth on the walls that have not been cleaned for years,” he told reporters as he was heading to his latest campaign rally in the framework of the midterm elections.
The Cheesecake Factory is a famous restaurant chain known for its exaggerated decor.
Obama directed a series of harsh criticisms at Trump during his participation in election campaigns for Democrats in the states of Ohio and Michigan, ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for next week.
But what seemed to irritate Trump the most were Obama's sarcastic comments about the billionaire's renovations to the White House, which included building a huge ballroom and adding gilded decorations throughout the Oval Office.
"He made the White House look like Saddam Hussein had opened a branch of the Cheesecake Factory," Obama said.
