Al-Qadisiyah team defeated its guest, Abha, 2-1, on Friday, in the ninth round of the Saudi Professional Football League.
Italian Matteo Rettigi scored the lead goal for Al-Qadisiyah in the 30th minute, after the same player had missed a penalty kick in the fifth minute.
Mohamed Abu Al-Shamat succeeded in scoring the second goal for the hosts in the 69th minute, and then Frenchman Alimami Gouri reduced the difference with a goal for Abha in the fifth minute of stoppage time in the second half.
This victory raised Al-Qadisiyah’s score to 22 points at the top of the standings, one point ahead of Al-Hilal, whose match in the same round against Riyadh was postponed until next December, for logistical reasons, according to the Saudi Professional League Clubs Association.
As for Abha, after the loss, its score froze at only two points in last place.
