Tel Aviv - Ofoq News - 7,331,981 eligible voters will go to 12,018 polling stations on Tuesday to choose their representatives from among 36 lists competing in the elections for the 26th Knesset.
Most polling stations are scheduled to open their doors at seven in the morning and close at ten in the evening, while centers in small towns, hospitals, prisons and nursing homes will close at eight in the evening.
With the closing of the last polling station, the Central Elections Committee begins a large logistical process to collect votes, count them, and announce the results, as part of the final preparations that precede the start of this process.
Soldiers will be able to vote in polling stations within their military bases or in their usual stations, while police officers have the right to vote in any polling station in the country, provided they present a police ID card.
250 voting stations will also be allocated in hospitals with at least 50 beds, in addition to centers in nursing homes with more than 50 residents, with centers equipped for people with disabilities and limited mobility provided.
In preparation for the elections, a free travel system will be implemented on some public transport services. This system includes Israel Railways and intercity bus routes with routes exceeding 15 km.
Free travel will be possible starting tonight (Monday) at 8:00pm until the end of public transportation operations on Election Day.
According to the weather forecast for Election Day, temperatures are expected to fall within the normal range for this season. Scattered rains are also expected, especially in the south and east of the country.
The rain is expected to increase in intensity in these areas starting in the afternoon, accompanied by thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail.
There is a risk of major flooding in the southern Negev rivers, Wadi Araba, and the Dead Sea region.
When will the election results begin to be announced? Vote counting will begin when polls close at 10 p.m. At each polling station, members of the center committee will count the votes and prepare a structured protocol.
The protocols and materials will be transferred to the regional election commissions, and after conducting the necessary checks, the data will be entered into the systems of the Central Election Commission.
Partial results are expected to be published overnight, and will be updated gradually as the counting process progresses.
However, the picture of the decisions may change even after the official vote count is complete, after the duplicate envelopes are counted.
The Election Commission expects to finish counting the votes by Thursday afternoon. According to the law, the deadline for publishing official results is November 4, 2026.
