Mohamed Salah misses the match between Egypt and South Sudan for a “strange” reason

The Egyptian Football Association announced, through its accounts on social media platforms, on Saturday, that Mohamed Salah would be relieved from the “Pharaohs” and South Sudan match. The Egyptian Football Association explained that the reason for Salah's rest is due to the "tartan" pitch that will host the match on September 29, as part of the second round of qualifiers for the 2027 African Cup of Nations.

The Egyptian Federation revealed that Mohamed Salah agreed with the technical staff at the beginning of the international break not to play this match, as coach Hossam Hassan preferred to “keep the player.” The 34-year-old star participated in the match between “The Pharaohs” and Angola, last Friday, which ended in a goalless draw.

Salah showed signs of dissatisfaction after the final whistle, and he was seen exchanging greetings with his country's fans.
