Salfit - Ofoq News - The “Give Back” initiative was launched yesterday, Wednesday, in Salfit Governorate, in conjunction with the activities of the Palestinian Economic Exhibition in the city of Bidya, with the participation of the Governor of Salfit and a number of official, economic and media figures.
Ofoq News Media Network launched a national initiative entitled "Giving Back", with the aim of supporting the Palestinian economy and enhancing commercial activity in the governorates, by organizing field media visits in which 30 male and female journalists from various governorates of the country participate, along with media professionals from internal Palestinians. The initiative previously included the governorates of Tulkarm and Jenin, and continues its stations in the Palestinian governorates until it reaches Salfit Governorate.
The announcement of the launch of the initiative in Salfit came during a press conference held at the Governorate House, as part of a three-day visit, from Wednesday to Friday, which includes field tours and visits to a number of historical, heritage and economic sites, in addition to covering the activities of the Palestine Industrial and Economic Festival in the city of Bidya.
The first day witnessed the participants arriving in the city of Bidya and heading to the Salfit Governorate House to participate in the press conference, while the program continues in the evening with a live broadcast of the program “Ofoq News This Evening” from Bidya Municipal Hall, with the participation of a number of officials and local and economic figures.
The initiative's activities will continue on Thursday with field visits to the Old City of Deir Istiya and Zaytouna University, in addition to participating in the opening of the Palestine Industrial and Economic Festival in Bidya, with the visit concluding on Friday with a tour of one of the city's heritage olive presses.
Salfit Governorate is one of the Palestinian governorates that is distinguished by its mountainous nature and the spread of olive trees, which constitute an essential part of its agricultural and economic identity. It is also famous for the production of high-quality olive oil. The governorate faces challenges as a result of Israeli settlement and the targeting of its lands, which makes learning about its reality, its population, and its economic and heritage components one of the focuses of the visit.
