The Revolutionary Guard issues a new threat to ships in the Strait of Hormuz and announces the targeting of a tanker

On Friday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard issued a new threat to destroy ships that it described as “violating” while crossing the Strait of Hormuz, after it announced the targeting of one of the oil tankers flying the Togolese flag, which led to its stopping and the outbreak of fire. Admiral Ali Azmaei, Commander of the Naval Forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, announced on Friday that the “Trend” oil tanker flying the Togolese flag had been targeted and stopped after a fire broke out in it, according to what was reported by the official Iranian “IRNA” news agency.

Admiral Azmaei confirmed in a statement on Friday that what he described as “illegal passage” through the Strait of Hormuz would only lead to the destruction of the violating ship. Admiral Ali Azmaei said in a statement: “O great people of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with 200 continuous nights of your presence in the arena, the valiant soldiers of Islam and the heroic naval forces of the Revolutionary Guards continue to firmly control the vital waterway, the Strait of Hormuz, and do not allow any aggressor to pass through it,” according to the “IRNA” agency.

Admiral Ali Azmaei added that last night, the oil tanker (Trend), which he described as (in violation) and which flies the Togolese flag, attempted to cross the Strait of Hormuz illegally at the instigation and misinformation of the US military, but it was hit and forced to stop after a fire broke out in it. He said, "The Revolutionary Guard Navy warns again that illegal crossing of the Strait of Hormuz will only lead to the destruction of the violating ship."
