An official spokesman said, in an update on the health condition of Pope Leo According to the medical team, consisting of Dr. Luigi Carbone and Professor Stefano Margaritora, who treated him, Pope Leo underwent “routine examinations” on Thursday morning, and an X-ray of his chest showed “good improvement” in the lung that had been operated on.
On Thursday, Lawn practiced “daily activities independently,” a spokesperson said, and one physical therapy session included “full physical movements.” The spokesman added that doctors still feel “optimistic” while awaiting the results of additional tests.
In response to a media question about Lawon’s agenda, the official spokesman said that the events that were scheduled to be held will remain unchanged. The spokesman added that no new update on the Pope's health status is scheduled to be issued until approximately the same time tomorrow, Friday, unless new developments occur before then.
Lawon underwent surgery to treat lung cancer in Rome earlier this week. During the 90-minute operation in Rome on Tuesday, doctors removed the lower lobe of one of his lungs.
