Salfit - Ofoq News - Today, settlers attacked olive pickers in the Wadi Al-Ahmar and Wadi Al-Shaer areas, northeast of Salfit, and seized agricultural tractors, equipment and property of farmers in the Al-Manazel area - Wadi Suf, while the Israeli occupation forces forced the olive pickers to leave their lands in the Al-Matwi area, west of Salfit.
Farmers reported that settlers attacked olive pickers in the Wadi al-Ahmar and Wadi al-Shaer areas, in an attempt to prevent them from continuing the picking work and accessing their agricultural lands, in light of the escalation of attacks targeting Palestinian farmers during the olive season.
In a related context, settlers attacked farmers from the Jama’in area in the Al-Manazil area - Wadi Suf, and seized an agricultural tractor and trailer, agricultural tools and bags of olives, owned by the citizen Hatem Mahmoud Abu Omar, while they stole the agricultural tractor belonging to the citizen Haitham Al-Han, known as Abu Moaz, which caused losses to the farmers and threatened their source of livelihood.
In the Al-Matwi area, west of Salfit, the Israeli occupation forces forced olive pickers to leave their agricultural lands, and prevented them from continuing to harvest the fruits, in an attack that deprives farmers of access to their lands and harvesting their crop during its season.
These attacks come in the context of the continuous attacks on Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season, which range from attacking pickers, seizing agricultural equipment, stealing crops, preventing access to lands or forcing their owners to leave them, which exacerbates their suffering and threatens their families’ source of income.
