The All-Palestinian Gathering announces the registration of its list to run in the Legislative Council elections and demands that they be held on time

Hebron - Ofoq News - The All-Palestinian Gathering announced today, Friday, the registration of its list with the Central Elections Commission, to run in the Palestinian Legislative Council elections scheduled for November 28, 2026.

The founder of the group, lawyer Dr. Bassam Al-Qawasmi, said that the absence of the Legislative Council over twenty years prevented the Palestinian people from electing representatives in five electoral sessions, considering that this absence contributed to the exacerbation of crises and failures in various sectors.

He added that the absence of the Legislative Council weakened oversight and accountability over the performance of the Palestinian government, and hindered it from exercising its role in legislation and reviewing and monitoring the general budget and public funds.

The gathering called on those who are trying to postpone the elections, for what it described as personal and self-interested motives, not to tamper with the fate of the Palestinian people, demanding an end to the absence of the Legislative Council and respect for the law and the will of the Palestinian people.

He stressed the need to hold the elections on the scheduled date of November 28 of this year.
